Introduction

A few quick things before you get started.

This IS in fact a sequel to "The Rainbow Factory" By: Aurora Dawn. While I know many people frown upon unofficial sequels and such, I am very confident many of you will actually enjoy this story explaining the cause of this catastrophe.

If you do not wish to read "The Rainbow Factory" then here is a short summary. all you need to know for this story.

Summary:

It is a few years later and Scootaloo is older and ready to finally take her flight exam. While waiting in line with a friend of hers, they witness a pegasus fail it; which is a major disgrace. Her friend stands up for her and tries to get her another chance. When they rub him off, he intentionally fails. Scoot is thrown off by this and gets distracted during her test, causing her to accidentally fail. The three are marched off the the West gate where they are unaware of the hideous fate that await them. They quickly learn that they are killing the failures and pulling the pure spectra from their coats of fur and using them to help create the Rainbows. Scoot later discovers that the Pegasus in charge of this slaughter is none other than her beloved mentor Rainbow Dash. She tries to free herself from the Weather Factory, but is captured. As Rainbow is ready to kill her and use her as spectra she asks if the twerp had any last words. The final line of the story before Scootaloo is ready to die is

    "You have the most beautiful eyes"
